On Saturday, February 20, 2010 our Community Manager completed the process of becoming a certified community manager by passing the National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers (NBC-CAM) Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) test.
NBC-CAM grants the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) credential to individuals who demonstrate fundamental knowledge and expertise in
managing homeowner and condominium associations and cooperatives. Through its education and examination requirements, NBC-CAM provides association residents with a level of confidence in the qualifications of the CMCA credentialed manager.
The CMCA examination tests candidates in: Meetings; Governance and Legal Issues; Budgets, Reserves, Investments, and Assessments; Financial Controls; Risk Management and Insurance; Property Maintenance; Contracting; and Human Resource Management.
While the number of community associations has grown from 10,000 in 1970 to roughly 300,000 today, only 8,600 professionals have earned the CMCA certification. Congratulations, Randy, on reaching this very important milestone!
